Key Features
- Compact and Portable Design: Dimensions of 324 × 212 × 138 mm and a maximum weight of 5.8 kg, making it suitable for use at livestock farms, shrimp farms, veterinary stations, and mobile laboratories.
- Four Independent Fluorescence Channels: Supports FAM/SYBR Green I, HEX/JOE/VIC, ROX/Texas Red, and Cy5, enabling compatibility with four-color multiplex PCR assays.
- Peltier-Based Semiconductor Thermal Cycling: Gia nhiệt và làm lạnh nhanh, giúp chu trình nhiệt chính xác và lặp lại tốt.
- Short Run Time: Under the same thermal cycling program, the FQS-16 completes runs approximately 10 minutes faster than the Bioer 96 system.
- Reliable Reproducibility and Stability: Evaluation across more than 180 reactions showed that most CV values were below 3% between runs and below 2% across independent testing days.
- High Analytical Sensitivity: Detects as little as 1 copy, with a linear dynamic range of 1 to 10¹⁰ copies.
- Comprehensive, User-Friendly Software:
- Configure thermal cycling programs, assign samples and fluorescence channels, monitor runs, and analyze results.
- View raw results and analyzed data, including intuitive amplification curves.
- Includes preconfigured run-program templates for ABT kits.
- Automatically adjusts the temperature according to the actual sample volume in the tube, eliminating the need for manual volume entry.
- Function: File Readback helps recover the most recent run data if the connection is interrupted.
- Intuitive Error Alerts: Six status LEDs provide visual system feedback. The Error indicator and audible alarm alert users to block temperature sensor malfunctions.
- Convenient Sample Handling: Compatible with individual 0.2 mL PCR tubes and 8-tube strips.

Application
- Mobile and Field Laboratories: Ideal for livestock farms, shrimp farms, and veterinary stations requiring lightweight, portable equipment.
- Small and Medium-Sized Laboratories: An affordable investment for laboratories needing reliable performance with four-color multiplex assays.
- Replacement of Older Equipment: Suitable for laboratories experiencing block heating or fluorescence signal issues with older qPCR systems.
- Veterinary and Aquaculture Diagnostics: Detection of ASFV (African swine fever virus), WSSV, and EHP in shrimp; multiplex testing using four-color kits.
Compatibility with ABT qPCR Kits
The system has been evaluated with the following ABT TopSPEC® kits:
- TopSPEC® ASFV qPCR Kit (SQV-101)
- TopSPEC® WSSV-EHP qPCR Kit (MQS-352)
- TopSPEC® TPD multiplex qPCR Kit (MQS-202)
Compared with the Bioer 96 system, amplification curves across the FAM, HEX, Texas Red, and Cy5 channels show comparable profiles and stable signals across replicate runs. Both systems demonstrate comparable differentiation between positive and negative samples.
PC System Requirements
- Operating System: Windows 7 or Windows 10
- CPU: 2 GHz or higher (minimum 1.6 GHz)
- RAM: Minimum 2 GB; 4 GB recommended
- Hard Disk: At least 4.5 GB of free space
- Display: Minimum resolution of 1280 × 768; 1920 × 1080 recommended. A laptop with a 15.6-inch display or larger is recommended to view all four channels, especially Cy5.
- Software: .NET Framework 4.0 or later; install the USB driver (Windows_CDM21228_Setup).
Usage Recommendations
- Install the software on a drive other than C: (e.g., D:) to avoid COM connection errors.
- Use a laptop with a 15.6-inch display or larger. Smaller displays may require scaling adjustments.
- If a COM connection error occurs after several runs, reconnect the COM cable or restart the software before the next run. If a run is interrupted, use Help → File Readback to recover the data.
- When comparing results with another system, use the same analysis method and threshold settings, as Ct values may differ slightly. The FAM channel may show Ct values approximately 1.13 cycles higher.
- Operate the instrument at an ambient temperature of 10–30°C, on a clean, flat surface, with at least 20 cm of clearance for heat dissipation. Do not obstruct the ventilation openings.
