INTRODUCTION
Porcine circovirus 2 (PCV2) are small,circle single‐stranded nonenveloped DNA viruses that belongs to the genus Circovirus. PCV2 is the primary causative agent of several syndromes collectively known as porcine circovirus‐associated disease (PCVAD). Diseases induced by PCV2 manifest in various forms, including post-weaning multisystemic wasting syndrome (PMWS), necrotizing and vasculitic dermatitis (PDNS), porcine respiratory disease complex (PRDC), and other reproductive issues.
TopSPEC® PCV2 qPCR Kit is a diagnostic tool designed to detect the presence of Porcine Circovirus Type 2 (PCV2) – specifically the ORF1 gene associated with disease in pigs – using Real-time PCR technology. It exhibits high sensitivity and specificity in identifying PCV2, making it suitable for both diagnostic and screening purposes.
