About TopSPEC® KHV qPCR Kit

Koi Herpesvirus (KHV) is the common designation for the pathogen cyprinid herpesvirus-3 (CyHV-3), also known as the virus responsible for interstitial nephritis and gill necrosis in common carp. Typical clinical manifestations include changes in body coloration such as pallor or reddening, severe necrosis and discoloration of the gills (characterized by red and white mottling), sunken eyes (endophthalmia), hemorrhages on the skin and fin bases, and excessive mucus secretion. The internal organs most severely affected during the acute phase of infection are the gills, kidneys, intestines, and spleen.

TopSPEC ® KHV qPCR Kit is designed to detect the presence of Koi Herpesvirus – Thymidine kinase (TK) gene - which causes disease in common carp, using qPCR technology.
