About TopSPEC® Isospora suis qPCR KIT
Swine coccidiosis is caused by the parasite Isospora suis, affecting pigs of all ages but most commonly observed in neonatal piglets under two weeks old. The disease is prevalent in high-density pig farming areas with poor sanitation conditions. Its characteristic symptoms include enteritis and diarrhea, which may appear as liquid or pasty stool—initially milky white and later turning yellow with a foul odor. Infected piglets may exhibit weakness, dehydration, stunted growth, reduced weight gain, and, in severe cases, death.
TopSPEC® Isospora suis qPCR Kit is a diagnostic kit designed to detect the presence of Isospora suis – ITS1 gene – associated with coccidiosis in pigs using the qPCR technique. The kit utilizes a master mix containing UNG (Uracil-N-Glycosylase), which helps prevent cross-contamination from previous PCR products.
