Introducing TopSPEC® EHP qPCR Kit
Microsporidiosis causes slow growth in shrimp, leading to considerable economic losses. The disease is caused by a parasite. Enterocytozoon Hepatopenaei (EHP) is a parasite that infects the shrimp’s hepatopancreas, consuming nutrients from these organs and thereby slowing shrimp growth. In addition, it weakens the immune system and reduces disease resistance, making shrimp more susceptible to other serious infections such as white spot disease and acute hepatopancreatic necrosis disease (AHPND). EHP can persist in shrimp eggs, allowing vertical transmission from broodstock to offspring; therefore, early screening and detection are crucial.
TopSPEC® EHP qPCR Kit is a testing kit designed to detect the presence of Enterocytozoon Hepatopenaei (EHP) in aquaculture environments. Early detection of the pathogen helps minimize economic losses caused by EHP.
