About TopSPEC® ASFV-I177L qPCR KIT
African swine fever virus (ASFV) is a highly pathogenic agent that poses a significant threat to the swine industry. Among its genetic components, the I177L gene encodes a protein that triggers inflammatory responses and induces the secretion of interleukin-1β (IL-1β) in infected hosts. Wild-type ASFV strains typically retain an intact I177L gene and exhibit high virulence, whereas certain attenuated vaccine strains show deletions of the I177L gene, resulting in reduced pathogenicity.
TopSPEC® ASFV-I177L qPCR Kit is a diagnostic tool designed to detect the presence of the I177L gene in ASFV strains infecting pigs, using Real-time PCR technology.
