INTRODUCTION
‘’Acute Hepatopancreatic Necrosis Disease’’ AHPND was initially referred to as "EMS’’ (Early Mortality Syndrome) caused by the bacterium Vibrio parahaemolyticus. Once inside the shrimp, this bacterium produces potent toxins that destroy tissue and disrupt hepatopancreatic function. This is also the main cause of early mortality in shrimp within 30–35 days after stocking, with a mortality rate of up to 70%.
TopSPEC® AHPND/EMS qPCR KIT is a diagnostic kit designed to detect the bacteria responsible for Acute Hepatopancreatic Necrosis Disease (AHPND) and Early Mortality Syndrome (EMS) in shrimp samples using Real-time PCR technology in aquaculture environments. The kit offers several outstanding advantages, including a simple and rapid workflow, high sensitivity, and excellent specificity.
