Herpes simplexvirus 1-2 (HSV1-2) is a prevalent virus in humans belonging to the Herpesviridae family, Alphaherpesvirinae subfamily, rapidly transmitted through direct mucosal contact between individuals. Most early cases of HSV1-2 infection are asymptomatic, and as the disease progresses, symptoms may manifest, such as the appearance of ulcers, blisters around the mouth, and genital areas. In pregnant women, HSV1-2 infection during pregnancy can be transmitted from mother to infant, leading to neonatal herpes. Additionally, persistent HSV1-2 infection can result in various neurological disorders such as meningitis, encephalitis, nerve degeneration, and ocular inflammation. Therefore, accurate detection and identification of HSV1-2 play a crucial role in treatment and prevention efforts.

TopSENSI® HSV1-2 Multiplex qPCR Kit is a testing kit designed for the detection of the presence of DNA-HSV1 and DNA-HSV2 in samples extracted from various specimens from human using the Real-time PCR technique.
