INTRODUCTION TO CLASS II TYPE A2 BIOLOGICAL SAFETY CABINET
- The Class II Type A2 Biological Safety Cabinet is a sealed, internally recirculating enclosure designed for handling pathogenic or potentially pathogenic microorganisms. It provides comprehensive protection for laboratory personnel, work samples, and the surrounding environment against biological contaminants.
- Purpose of Use: To protect the operator by purifying the surrounding environment through an ULPA filter, effectively removing harmful bacteria and viruses. Applications include medical diagnostics, clinical medicine, molecular biology, and cell culture.
- Operating Principle of Class II Biological Safety Cabinet: Ambient air enters the cabinet through the front opening and is directed beneath the work surface. It is then blown downward across the work area through the internal ULPA filter. Approximately 70% of this airflow is recirculated within the working chamber, while the remaining 30% is exhausted to the external environment through the ULPA filter located at the top of the cabinet.

- Construction: Cabinet shell and legs made of powder-coated steel. Working chamber fabricated from SUS 304 stainless steel, 1.5 mm thick, offering chemical corrosion resistance, easy cleaning, and elimination of 99.95% of surface bacteria within 24 hours.
- Control Panel: Front-mounted HMI touch screen for controlling LED lighting, UV lamp, blower, and monitoring airflow velocity as well as cabinet operating status.
- The cabinet includes two waterproof electrical outlets within the work zone for added convenience.
- Noise Level: Low operational noise ≤ 65 dB.
- Sliding Door: Constructed from 1.5 mm tempered glass with a slight incline to facilitate operation. Equipped with a door sensor that provides height-warning alerts for safe use when opened.
- Work Surface: Removable panel design with handles, allowing easy disassembly and cleaning.
