Introduction
Red Tail Disease in shrimp is caused by Taura Syndrom Virus (TSV) is an RNA virus. In the acute form of the disease, the shrimp’s tail turns red, while in the chronic form, numerous melanized spots appear due to epidermal necrosis. Infected shrimp typically die during molting; however, once they successfully complete molting, they can continue to grow and recover normally.
TopSPEC® TSV One-step RT-qPCR Kit is a test kit that detects the presence of Taura Syndrom Virus (TSV) causing red tail shrimp disease in the farming environment. Early detection of pathogens helps save lost costs caused by TSV.
