About TopSPEC® CPV qPCR Kit
Canine Parvovirus (CPV) is a highly contagious pathogen in dogs, primarily transmitted via the gastrointestinal and respiratory routes through feces, secretions, and contaminated surfaces. Outbreaks commonly occur in unvaccinated puppies aged 6 weeks to 6 months, while cats may carry the virus asymptomatically, contributing to its persistence in shared environments. CPV is remarkably resistant to heat, humidity, light, and common disinfectants, allowing it to survive for extended periods in kennels. Early detection is therefore critical to prevent rapid spread within canine populations.
TopSPEC ® CPV qPCR Kit is a molecular diagnostic tool designed to detect the presence of Canine Parvovirus (CPV) in dogs by targeting the VP2 gene using Real-time PCR technology. Early identification of the pathogen enables timely intervention, thereby mitigating the adverse effects associated with CPV infection.
