About TopSPEC® CAdV qPCR Kit

Canine Adenovirus (CAdV), a double-stranded DNA virus from the Adenoviridae family, includes two major types: CAdV-1, which causes infectious canine hepatitis, and CAdV-2, associated with respiratory disease. Transmission occurs through direct contact with secretions such as urine, feces, and saliva, or indirectly via contaminated surfaces and objects. Puppies under one year of age and unvaccinated adult dogs are at highest risk, especially in cool, humid environments where the virus can persist despite common disinfectants. Early detection is essential for effective disease control and prevention.

TopSPEC ® CAdV qPCR Kit is a specialized diagnostic tool designed to detect Canine Adenovirus (CAdV) in dogs by targeting the hexon gene using Real-time PCR technology.
