About TopSPEC® ASFV-CD2v qPCR KIT
African swine fever virus (ASFV) is a highly pathogenic agent that poses a serious threat to the swine industry. Among its genetic components, CD2v (EP402R) encodes a protein involved in hemadsorption (HAD), which facilitates cell-to-cell transmission and contributes to the virus’s virulence. Wild-type ASFV strains typically possess an intact CD2v gene, which is associated with high pathogenicity, in contrast to certain attenuated vaccine strains where the CD2v gene has been deleted.
TopSPEC® ASFV-CD2v qPCR Kit is a diagnostic tool designed to detect the presence of the CD2v gene in ASFV strains infecting pigs, using Real-time PCR technology.
