INTRODUCTION
TopSENSI® GBS qPCR Kit is a test kit based on the real-time PCR method that allows fast and accurate detection of GBS agent from vaginal swab samples. The kit has the advantages of specificity, high sensitivity, endogenous control is available to help control the extraction process or master mix.
Group B Streptococcus (GBS) is a gram-positive bacterium, commonly found in pregnant women 's vagina and rectum. Women infected with GBS are usually ineffective and harmless, but in some cases can cause infection of the cervix. For pregnant women, during pregnancy, GBS infection can lead to neonatal infection in the baby, if progression severe, it can lead to death. Therefore, the screening and detection of this bacterium before birth is an extremely urgent problem.
