About TopSENSI ® STD-14 qPCR Kit
Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) refer to a group of infections caused by bacteria, viruses, parasites, or fungi. These infections are primarily transmitted through unprotected sexual contact (vaginal, anal, or oral). Additionally, certain STDs can be transmitted via blood-to-blood contact or vertically from mother to child during pregnancy and childbirth. Many STD infections remain asymptomatic, which escalates the risk of transmission and complicates early detection. If left undiagnosed or untreated, STDs can lead to severe clinical complications, including infertility, pelvic inflammatory disease, increased susceptibility to HIV, and anogenital cancers.
TopSENSI ® STD-14 qPCR Kit is developed for the simultaneous detection of 14 high-risk genital pathogens, including: Mycoplasma hominis; Mycoplasma genitalium; Trichomonas vaginalis; Streptococcus agalactiae; Ureaplasma parvum; Ureaplasma urealyticum; Gardnerella vaginalis; Human herpesvirus 1; Human herpesvirus 2; Treponema pallidum; Haemophilus ducreyi; Chlamydia trachomatis; Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Candida albicans The test is performed using Real-time PCR technology on DNA extracted from various human clinical specimens. The results obtained from this diagnostic kit are intended for clinical reference only and should not be used as the sole basis for diagnosis or exclusion of disease.
