INTRODUCTION TO PATHOLOGY GROSSING STATION
Pathology Grossing Station (PGS-01) is a specialized equipment designed to support the reception, inspection, grossing, and processing of tissue specimens prior to histological analysis and diagnosis.
The equipment features a fully integrated working area, an air exhaust and odor filtration system, a closed-loop formalin supply and disposal system, a washing and waste treatment system, and a specimen visualization surveillance camera. Consequently, the PGS-01 enhances user safety, optimizes workflows, and meets environmental control requirements in modern anatomical pathology laboratories.
Researched and manufactured by ABT under stringent medical quality management standards, the PGS-01 is an ideal solution for anatomical pathology, forensics, diagnostic laboratories, and research institutes.

KEY FEATURES
Optimized Working Area
The working surface is fabricated from corrosion-resistant 316 stainless steel, providing a convenient workspace, easing cleanability, and maintaining a sterile environment:
- Perforated drainage tray
- Stainless steel sink
- Specialized cutting board
- Specimen measuring ruler
- Magnetic tool holder strip
- Built-in under-counter trash can
Air Exhaust & Activated Carbon Filtration System
Formalin vapors and gases generated during specimen processing are captured directly at the workspace, passing through a granular activated carbon filter before being extracted by a high-capacity exhaust fan.
- Minimizes unpleasant odors in the workspace.
- Reduces the risk of chemical exposure.
- Enhances safety for pathologists and laboratory technicians.
Imaging & Visualization System
A Full HD 1080p resolution camera paired with a control tablet captures and displays real-time specimen images during grossing procedures.
- Supports teleconsultation and training.
- Stores gross examination images of specimens.
- Improves traceability and workflow control.
Closed-Loop Formalin Supply & Disposal System
Integrated with separate formalin supply and waste tanks, allowing for the dispensing, usage, and collection of formalin within a single, unified system.
- Reduces direct handling and contact with chemicals.
- Limits the release of formalin vapors into the environment.
- Supports safe chemical waste management.
Integrated Waste Grinder
Waste generated during the grossing process is finely ground before disposal, helping to:
- Reduce waste volume.
- Prevent pipe clogging.
- Support more efficient waste treatment.
Specialized Lighting System
Ensures clear specimen visualization throughout the grossing and gross examination process. Equipped with:
- Work area illumination lamps
- Gooseneck lamps for detailed inspection
