Introduction of PRRSV

The syndrome of respiratory and reproductive disorders in pigs, commonly known as Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS), is caused by the PRRSV. This is a highly contagious and dangerous infectious disease that spreads rapidly and leads to a significant mortality rate in infected pigs, resulting in substantial losses to the swine farming industry. The disease affects pigs of all ages, with a potential mortality rate of up to 100%. Early detection of the disease within a herd plays a crucial role in mitigating the damages caused by the illness.

TopSPEC® Virotype PRRSV RT-qPCR KIT is a diagnostic kit designed for the detection of PRRSV, which causes respiratory and reproductive disorders in pigs. Additionally, the kit facilitates the differentiation of various PRRSV strains, including PRRSV type I (EU), PRRSV type II (NA), and highly pathogenic PRRSV Type II HP (gene OFR1a). By using the RT-qPCR technique, this kit enables detection across diverse sample backgrounds with high sensitivity and specificity.
