INTRODUCTION
Translucent post-larva disease (TPD) is a new disease in whiteleg shrimp (Penaeus vannamei), caused by Vibrio parahaemolyticus (VpTPD) causes and was first detected in China in 2020. The disease has an infection rate of about 60% and a high mortality rate in shrimp, especially PL4 - PL7 stage shrimp (90 – 100%). Typical disease symptoms in shrimp are usually pale or colorless hepatopancreas, shrunken and transparent body, and rapid death of shrimp. Therefore, early detection of pathogens in the farming environment will help significantly reduce damage caused by diseases.
TopSPEC® TPD multiplex qPCR Kit is a test kit designed to detect the presence of the vhvp-1, vhvp-2, and vhvp-3 toxin genes in Vibrio strains causing TPD in shrimp using qPCR technology.
