Influenza virus , commonly known as flu viruses, belong to the Orthomyxoviridae family and are classified into three types: A, B, and C. Among these, Influenza A and B viruses are the primary agents responsible for seasonal epidemics each year, characterized by rapid transmission. Influenza A virus can infect humans, poultry (such as birds and chickens), and livestock (including pigs and horses), whereas Influenza B virus is restricted to human hosts. Due to their high transmissibility and potential to cause pandemics, early diagnosis and preventive measures are essential for controlling influenza outbreaks.
