Introduction TopSPEC® ADV qPCR Kit
Pseudorabies (PR) , also known as Aujeszky’s Disease (AD), is a viral disease that affects pigs and other animals such as dogs, cats, and cattle. It is caused by the Pseudorabies virus (PRV), a member of the Herpesviridae family. ADV infection in pigs leads to clinical symptoms including fever, anorexia, respiratory distress, and neurological signs. Infected pigs may also exhibit behavioral changes such as aggression or depression. The virus can be transmitted among pigs through direct contact with infected animals, as well as indirectly via contaminated equipment, feed, and clothing. Although ADV is a zoonotic disease, transmission to humans is extremely rare.
TopSPEC® ADV qPCR Kit s a diagnostic tool designed for the detection of ADV (PRV) – specifically the Glycoprotein B gene – in pigs using Real-time PCR technology. Early detection of the pathogen is critical for preventing the severe consequences associated with ADV infection.
