Introduction TopSPEC® ADV Multiplex qPCR Kit
Aujeszky's disease (AD) is a highly infectious and dangerous disease that affects pigs of all ages, with a high mortality rate. The disease is caused by a DNA virus belonging to the Herpesviridae family (PRV). AD causes symptoms such as fever, cough, runny nose, pneumonia, and abortion, as well as fetal death in sows. Currently, the most effective measure to control and minimize the damage caused by AD is whole-herd vaccination.
TopSPEC® ADV Multiplex qPCR Kit is a diagnostic assay designed to detect and differentiate pigs infected with wild-type Aujeszky’s Disease Virus (ADV/PRV), which carries the Glycoprotein B gene, from those vaccinated with inactivated strains lacking the Glycoprotein E gene. Utilizing real-time PCR technology, the kit enables rapid detection of ADV with high sensitivity and specificity.
