Introduction
Vibrio vulnificus and Vibrio alginolyticus are Gram-negative bacteria belonging to the Vibrionaceae family, characterized by their motility, facultative anaerobic nature, and typically straight or slightly curved rod-shaped morphology. V. vulnificus is a known pathogen responsible for red body syndrome in postlarval shrimp and mass mortality in postlarval stages of Pacific white shrimp. On the other hand, V. alginolyticus is commonly recognized as the causative agent of red body syndrome in postlarval stages of Pacific white shrimp. Therefore, early detection of the presence of these bacteria in aquaculture environments is crucial to minimize the severe consequences they may cause.
TopSPEC® V.vulnificus/ V.alginolyticus qPCR Kit is a testing kit designed to detect the presence of V.vulnificus/ V.alginolyticus in aquatic samples using the Real-time PCR technique. The kit relies on the detection of vvhA gene and toxR gene, enabling the early and rapid identification of the pathogenic agents with high sensitivity and specificity.
