Introduction
Vibrio parahaemolyticus is a Gram-negative bacterium belonging to the Vibrionaceae family, characterized by its motility, facultative anaerobic nature, and typically straight or slightly curved rod-shaped morphology. V. parahaemolyticus is the primary causative agent of Acute Hepatopancreatic Necrosis Disease (AHPND), also known as Early Mortality Syndrome (EMS) in shrimp. These bacteria have the ability to parasitize the shrimp's digestive tract and secrete toxins that lead to swelling or atrophy of the hepatopancreas, causing mass mortality ranging from 90% to 100% in aquaculture ponds. Therefore, early detection of the presence of this bacterium in aquaculture environments is essential to minimize the severe consequences it may cause.
TopSPEC® V. parahaemolyticus qPCR Kit is a testing kit designed to detect the presence of Vibrio parahaermolyticus in aquatic samples using the Real-time PCR technique. The kit offers several notable advantages, including rapid detection, high sensitivity, and specificity.
