Introduction 

Vibrio alginolyticus is a Gram-negative bacterium belonging to the Vibrionaceae family, characterized by its motility, facultative anaerobic nature, and typically straight or slightly curved rod-shaped morphology.V. alginolyticus is known to cause red body syndrome in postlarval shrimp. Affected postlarvae exhibit red spots on the base of antennae, head-thorax junction, body, and appendages when infected with Vibrio alginolyticus. Additionally, numerous studies indicate that, along with V. cholera, V. alginolyticus is implicated in causing white feces syndrome in whiteleg shrimp. Therefore, early detection of the presence of this bacterium in aquaculture environments is crucial to mitigate the potential severe consequences it may induce.
