About TopSPEC® nptll Gene qPCR Kit
Neomycin phosphotransferase II (nptll) originated from Escherichia coli Tn5 transposon. NPTII is a type of aminoglycoside phosphotransferase that inactivates aminoglycoside antibiotics, including kanamycin and neomycin. NPTII inactivates kanamycin by catalyzing the transfer of the terminal phosphate group from ATP to kanamycin and is used in plants, as well as in yeast and mammals.
TopSPEC® nptll Gene qPCR Kit is a diagnostic kit designed to detect genetically modified materials by identifying the presence of the Neomycin phosphotransferase II (nptII) gene in plants and various food products using the Real-time PCR technique.
