Introduction
Necrotizing hepatopancreatitis, also known as black spot disease, is caused by Necrotizing hepatopancreatitis bacterium (NHPB). The disease occurs when the pond environment, especially the bottom of the pond, is of poor quality. The mortality rate is up to 95% within 15-30 days of getting sick. The infected shrimps show signs of lethargy, loss of appetite, slow growth, having tiny black spots or large patches and other symptoms. Without timely preventive measures, the situation will get worse. Early detection is the best measure.
TopSPEC® NHPB qPCR Kit is a testing kit designed to detect the presence of Necrotizing Hepatopancreatitis Bacterium (NHPB) in aquaculture environments. Early detection of the pathogen helps minimize economic losses caused by NHPB.
