Introducing TopSPEC® MrNV One-step RT-qPCR Kit
White Tail Disease (WTD) or White Muscle Disease (WMD) occurs in giant freshwater prawns and is caused by Macrobrachium rosenbergii nodavirus (MrNV) and extra small virus (XSV). MrNV is the primary causative agent of the disease, while XSV also plays a significant role. MrNV infection does not cause mortality in adult shrimp; however, it can be transmitted from broodstock to larvae and juveniles, leading to death. The mortality rate among larvae and juvenile shrimp reaches 100% within 5–6 days after the onset of the disease. Therefore, early screening and detection of the MrNV virus should be prioritized to minimize losses.
TopSPEC® MrNV One-step RT-qPCR Kit is a test kit that detects the presence of Macrobrachium rosenbergii nodavirus (MrNV) in the culture environment. Early detection of pathogens helps save costs caused by MrNV.
