About TopSPEC® Anaplasma/ Babesia Multiplex qPCR Kit
Tick‑borne diseases are among the most common infectious conditions in dogs and cats. Among them, Babesiosis and Anaplasmosis are two prevalent blood‑parasite diseases frequently encountered in Vietnam. Anaplasma is a genus of Gram‑negative, obligate intracellular bacteria belonging to the family Anaplasmataceae. Otherwise, Babesia is a genus of obligate intracellular protozoan parasites within the phylum Apicomplexa , primarily infecting red blood cells. These two diseases are often confused because they share similar early clinical signs (fever, lethargy) and frequently occur as co‑infections (simultaneous infection with both, or with Ehrlichia), complicating diagnosis and treatment.
TopSPEC ® Anaplasma/ Babesia Multiplex qPCR Kit is a diagnostic kit designed to detect and differentiate blood‑parasite pathogens in dogs and cats. It targets species within the genus Anaplasma (Anaplasma platys and Anaplasma phagocytilum); and species within the genus Babesia (Babesia canis vogeli, Babesia canis canis, Babesia canis rossi, Babesia gibsoni) using the qPCR technique.
