About TopSENSI® Vibrio cholerae qPCR Kit
Cholera is an acute diarrheal infection caused by consuming food or water contaminated with the bacterium Vibrio cholerae. Cholera can be fatal within hours if not promptly treated. Diagnosis is confirmed through stool culture (using recommended selective methods) combined with subsequent serological assessment. Cholerae must be differentiated from infections caused by Escherichia coli and occasionally by Salmonella and Shigella. Therefore, PCR testing is also an option for rapidly and specifically detecting V. cholerae .

The results of this test kit are for clinical reference only and should not be used as the sole basis for diagnosis or exclusion.
