About TopSENSI® Staphylococcus aureus qPCR Kit
Staphylococcus aureus (Golden Staph) are Gram-positive, aerobic bacteria and the most common cause of infections among staphylococci. They have the potential to cause food poisoning and are particularly notable for their resistance to multiple antibiotics. Most Staphylococcus primarily reside on the skin and mucous membranes, often without causing disease or only resulting in minor skin infections. However, when staphylococcal bacteria penetrate deeper into the bloodstream, joints, lungs, or heart, they can lead to severe infections: skin infections and, occasionally, pneumonia; endocarditis; osteomyelitis; and frequently result in the formation of abscesses that are life-threatening. Some strains produce complex toxins that can cause gastroenteritis, scalded skin syndrome, and toxic shock syndrome. Therefore, the early detection of this pathogen is extremely crucial.
