Introduction TopSENSI® Plasmodium falciparum/vivax/malariae qPCR Kit
Plasmodium spp., are unicellular parasites belonging to the family Plasmodiidae. To complete their life cycle, Plasmodium spp., obligatorily parasitizes two host organisms including vertebrates (such as humans) and insects (mosquitoes). There are 5 species of Plasmodium spp., known to infect humans: P. falciparum, P. vivax, P. ovale, P. malariae, P. knowlesi. Among these, P. falciparum, P. vivax and P. malariae lare the most commonly encountered in human infections, with P. falciparum being the most virulent and potentially fatal.
TopSENSI® Plasmodium falciparum/vivax/malariae qPCR Kit is used to detect the presence of Plasmodium falciparum, Plasmodium vivax, Plasmodium malariae The test is performed using Real-time PCR technology on DNA extracted from various human clinical specimens. The results obtained from this diagnostic kit are intended for clinical reference only and should not be used as the sole basis for diagnosis or exclusion of disease.
