About TopSENSI® Listeria monocytogenes qPCR Kit
Listeria monocytogenes (L. monocytogenes) are Gram-positive, facultatively aerobic, motile bacteria that do not secrete exotoxins but possess endotoxins causing necrosis. These bacteria penetrate the gastrointestinal mucosa and cause infections in normally sterile areas of the body. The ability of L. monocytogenes to cause systemic infections depends on several factors: the number of bacteria entering the body, the host's susceptibility, and the virulence of the invading bacteria. Manifestations of Listeria infections include septicemia, bacteremia, meningitis, encephalitis, miscarriages, neonatal infections, preterm births, and stillbirths. The incubation period before symptoms appear can range from a few days to three months. Listeria monocytogenes can spread through food consumption or from mother to child.

L. monocytogenes
TopSENSI ® Listeria monocytogenes qPCR Kit is used to detect the presence of Listeria monocytogenes The test is performed using Real-time PCR technology on DNA extracted from various human clinical specimens. The results obtained from this diagnostic kit are intended for clinical reference only and should not be used as the sole basis for diagnosis or exclusion of disease.
