DNA/RNA DECONTAMINATION SOLUTION - TopCLEAN® DNA/RNA AWAY
INTRODUCTION
During molecular biology experiments, particularly in molecular diagnostics, contamination with exogenous DNA and RNA can lead to undesirable false-positive results, thereby compromising the accuracy of experimental outcomes. Therefore, effective decontamination of DNA and RNA from environmental surfaces and laboratory tools is essential, especially during PCR setup.
TopCLEAN® DNA/RNA AWAY offers a reliable solution for thoroughly cleaning and removing exogenous DNA and RNA from work surfaces, laboratory instruments, and equipment without affecting subsequent DNA or RNA samples.
The product’s components act synergistically to rapidly degrade DNA and RNA molecules through a non-enzymatic mechanism, which is independent of nucleic acid sequence or molecular size. It is non-corrosive, safe for long-term use on laboratory equipment, and does not produce toxic fumes.

USER GUIDE
Decontamination begins immediately upon application. Optimal contact time is 2–5 minutes. Prolonged exposure beyond 10 minutes does not enhance product efficacy
1. For laboratory surface decontamination:
✓ Method 1: Spray TopClean® DNA/RNA Away directly onto suspected contaminated surfaces. Incubate for 2–5 minutes, then wipe with 70% ethanol.
✓ - Method 2: Soak a clean soft cloth or lint-free tissue with TopClean® DNA/RNA Away and wipe suspected or contaminated areas thoroughly. Incubate for 2–5 minutes, then wipe with 70% ethanol.

2. Laboratory equipment decontamination:
Moisten a paper towel with TopCLEAN ® DNA/RNA AWAY and thoroughly wipe all contact surfaces of the equipment. Dry with a clean paper towel. For small components, immerse them in the solution and dry after soaking.
3. Decontamination of plastic and glass containers:
Add an excess amount of TopCLEAN ® DNA/RNA AWAY to the container, shake gently to ensure the solution coats all internal surfaces. Discard the solution, rinse thoroughly with distilled water, and dry.
4. Pipette decontamination:
Disassemble the shaft and remove the seal according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Soak the shaft in TopCLEAN ® DNA/RNA AWAY, rinse thoroughly with water, allow to dry, and reassemble.
