DEPC-treated Water

Product information

DEPC, or diethyl pyrocarbonate, is a chemical agent capable of inhibiting various enzymes, including RNases. In molecular biology, water used for RNA manipulation is pre-treated with DEPC to eliminate RNase contamination prior to use.

DEPC-treated Water is prepared by incubating with 0.1% DEPC, an RNase inhibitor, followed by autoclaving to remove residual DEPC.
