ABOUT ABT ® CLEANING SOLUTION II
Intended use: Used to assist in the removal of mucus and inflammatory material and to recover target cells for cervical cytology screening (liquid-based Pap test).

Manual instruction
- Cervical smear specimens are collected and preserved in ABT® Cell Preservative Solution at 15–30 °C for 24–48 hours.
– Perform the preparation of cervical smear specimens with excessive mucus or inflammation according to the following procedure:
- Step 1: Vortex the vial of ABT® Cell Preservative Solution containing the cervical smear specimen for approximately 15 seconds to homogenize the mixture.
- Step 2: Add 1–2 mL of ABT ® Cleaning Solution II to the specimen at a ratio of 1:10.
- Step 3: Vortex thoroughly and incubate the mixture for about 5 minutes at 15–30 °C. For specimens with excessive mucus and high viscosity, continue vortexing and incubating for an additional 5–10 minutes until all mucous strands are completely dissolved.
- Step 4: Process and smear cells onto glass slides according to the protocol of the corresponding kit and equipment.
