Introduction TopSPEC® Ehrlichia qPCR Kit
Ehrlichiosis is a disease caused by Ehrlichia spp. bacteria, primarily transmitted through dog ticks. Ehrlichia invades white blood cells and adversely affects canine health. The disease progresses through three stages: acute, subclinical, and chronic. Common clinical signs include fever, hematologic abnormalities, and general deterioration of the animal’s health. Although the mortality rate is relatively low, the disease can lead to long-term complications in dogs and, less commonly, in cats.
TopSPEC® Ehrlichia qPCR Kit s a diagnostic assay designed to detect the presence of Ehrlichia spp. in canine and feline samples using qPCR technology targeting the citrate synthase (gltA) gene. Early detection of the pathogen is essential for minimizing disease-related losses and enabling timely and effective preventive measures.
