INTRODUCTION
Viral Nervous Necrosis (VNN) typically occurs in fish aged 10–45 days. Infected fish appear lethargic and swim near the water surface. Fish older than 45 days may exhibit uncoordinated swimming in circular or spiral patterns. In addition, fish with VNN often show reduced appetite, and body parts may darken. Mortality rates reach 70–100% in larvae and juveniles, and around 20% in market-size fish. Therefore, early screening and monitoring during the fry stage are crucial to minimize economic losses for farmers.
TopSPEC® VNN One-step RT-qPCR Kit is a test kit that detects the presence of virus that causes neuronecrosis (VNN) in the culture environment . Early detection of pathogens helps save lost costs caused by VNN.
