About TopSENSI ® Diphtheria qPCR Kit
Diphtheria is an acute bacterial infection that can be fatal if not diagnosed and treated promptly. The disease is primarily transmitted through respiratory droplets or direct contact with cutaneous lesions. A hallmark clinical symptom of diphtheria is the presence of a grayish-white pseudomembrane at the site of infection. In humans, the causative agents are toxigenic strains of Corybacterium spp., which produce the diphtheria toxin, specifically: C.diphtheriae, C.ulcerans and C.pseudotuberculosis.
TopSENSI ® Diphtheria qPCR Kit is a specialized diagnostic reagent set for the detection of diphtheria-causing pathogens using Real-time PCR technology. This kit enables the accurate identification and differentiation of C.diphtheriae, C.ulcerans, C.pseudotuberculosis and the diphtheria toxin (Tox gene). The results obtained from this assay are intended for clinical reference only and should not be used as the sole basis for diagnosis or the exclusion of the disease.
