About TopSENSI® Salmonella spp. qPCR Kit
Salmonella spp. are motile, Gram-negative bacilli capable of infecting or invading human hosts. They are among the four leading causes of diarrhea globally. Clinical manifestations in humans include four distinct syndromes: typhoid fever, gastroenteritis, septicemia, and various extraintestinal complications, as well as a chronic carrier state. Symptoms may present as diarrhea, high fever with fatigue, or localized infection symptoms. Salmonella spp. can spread through food handlers who do not practice proper hand hygiene and/or through contaminated surfaces and utensils used during food preparation, and when individuals consume raw or undercooked food.
