Below is an example of a DNA\/RNA extraction procedure utilizing <strong>Chloroform: Isoamyl alcohol 24:1<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Grind 5 g of plant tissue using a mortar and pestle in liquid nitrogen.<\/li>\n<li>Add 500 \u03bcL of CTAB buffer and mix thoroughly.<\/li>\n<li>Incubate the sample at 65\u00b0C for 30 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Add 200 \u03bcL of <strong>Chloroform: Isoamyl alcohol 24:1<\/strong> and mix vigorously.<\/li>\n<li>Centrifuge at 13,000 rpm for 5 minutes. Carefully transfer 500 \u03bcL of the upper aqueous phase to a new tube.<\/li>\n<li>Add an equal volume of ice-cold absolute isopropanol (2\u20138\u00b0C) and incubate at \u201320\u00b0C for 10 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Centrifuge at 13,000 rpm for 10 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Discard the supernatant, wash the pellet with 500 \u03bcL of 70% ethanol, and allow the DNA to air dry
