Syphilis infections are frequently asymptomatic, which complicates accurate diagnosis and timely treatment. If left untreated, chronic infection can result in severe complications, particularly affecting the neurological and cardiovascular systems. In pregnant women, TP infection poses a significant risk of vertical transmission, potentially leading to neonatal conditions such as arthritis, blindness, deafness, and meningitis.
