Otherwise, <\/span><em><span class=\"a_GcMg font-feature-liga-off font-feature-clig-off font-feature-calt-off text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\">Babesia<\/span><\/em><span class=\"a_GcMg font-feature-liga-off font-feature-clig-off font-feature-calt-off text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\"> is a genus of obligate intracellular protozoan parasites within the phylum <em>Apicomplexa<\/em> , primarily infecting red blood cells.
