Introduction ABT ® Cell Preservative Solution

Intended use: This medium is designed for the collection and preservation of gynecological cell samples for cervical cancer screening (Pap test). Additionally, specimens preserved in this medium are compatible with DNA extraction protocols for HPV-DNA testing
Specification:

- Composition: Ethanol ≥ 35%, Isopropanol, Buffering Salts and Distilled Water

- Specimen type: Gynecological (GYN)

– pH 5.5 ± 0.2

- Physical appearance: Homogeneous, transparent, colorless liquid; free from impurities and sediment

- Cell preservation efficacy: Facilitates the collection and stabilization of nuclear and cytoplasmic morphology in gynecological cells for up to 30 days when stored at 15 – 30°C.

Note:

• Thoroughly agitate the ABT® Cell Preservative Solution vial to ensure homogeneity before opening.
• For maximum diagnostic accuracy, sample collection should be performed at least two days prior to or following the menstrual period.
• Not recommended for pregnant women.
• Required materials (Not provided): Sample collection brush/swab, Vaginal speculum, 1.5 mL microcentrifuge tubes.
